Dinner at Dahlia's

Here are some pictures from a nice evening we had with Aunt Celia, Uncle Dennis, and Lauren at Dahlia's in Leander. The food was great and the weather was perfect. Julia enjoyed the play area and the band. Swim Lessons

Julia had a very valuable experience taking swim lessons with our friend, Ashley. Julia had no idea what she was getting into the first class, since she had not set foot in a pool since last summer and even then did not like putting her face in the water or even blowing bubbles. We were so impressed with how good Ashley was with Julia - gently reassuring her while pushing her to do more than any of us would imagine she would be able to do. Example: after the first 30-minute lesson, Ashley had Julia swimming under her legs. We were shocked and excited. There were lots of tears, although Ashley didn't pay much attention to them, and lots of sno-cones for Julia (we rewarded her with one after almost every lesson). The video below were taken on her last lesson.

Playtime

This video shows a glimpse of what Julia's playtime is like. She is all over the place, moving from one toy to another. This video captures her "talking" on the play telephone (something I had never seen her do before. I'm not sure how she realized it is a phone since it looks nothing like our modern phones, unless she saw her cousins play with it last weekend), singing to the "ABC" song on the music table, putting the ball into the large toy, and giving a teddy bear hugs and kisses.

Chatty Football Fan

Over the past couple of days, Julia has become even more "talkative" than she was previously. Most of the time she talks directly to us as if she has so much to tell us, and it is so fun to listen and pretend we have some idea what she is saying. But she often gets very vocal when she is in her swing, as the first video shows. She carried on like this yesterday for about an hour, but I couldn't catch the best of it on video because she would stop to look at me each time she saw me.

A couple of weeks ago we discovered that Julia loves to watch football. Kyle first noticed her get really excited when he had a Georgia Tech game on. She would "coo," kick her legs, and occasionally let out a screech when a good play happened. Today, we let her watch some of the Texans game while we ate lunch and she thoroughly enjoyed it.

Giggle Box

We could hardly believe it when it happened, but Julia giggled for the first time on Thanksgiving Day. The video quality isn't great because the lighting was dim, but at least we captured it.

New Video of Julia

What a Cutie!

One of Julia's favorite things, besides snuggling on her Daddy's chest and riding in the car/running errands with Mommy, is sitting in her swing. Even if the swing motor is not on, she is just as happy to look up at the mirror above her head. We love watching her entertain herself.
