White Family Reunion

We had a wonderful time at the White Family Reunion over Memorial Day weekend. We stayed at the same place as last year just outside Bastrop since it can accommodate so many families and has some fun activities. We missed seeing those who couldn't make it this year.

Julia wasn't sure about fishing at first, so she just watched Pop.

Later, she went out with a pink/purple fishing pole her size and caught one!

Julia's first fish!

Fishing with Uncle Kolby in her pajamas, just after breakfast.

Whoa! What a big fish - and she caught it by herself with the tiny pole.

Trying to stay cool on a hot afternoon!
The kids enjoyed swimming, sprinklers, the car and scooters, and fishing.
Faith and Gift

Julia just loved playing with Ivy. Their birthdays are only a couple months apart and they got along so well together.

Playing her first Nintendo game. She thought she was playing, but her controller wasn't connected :)

Colin: 6 Months

Here are Colin's stats from his 6-month appointment:
  • Weight: 14lbs 13ozs (5th percentile)
  • Height: 25in (
  • Head Circumference:
Some things we want to remember about Colin at this age:
- Colin is a very content, happy baby.
- He loves attention, even from strangers.
- He sleeps really well...from about 8:30pm til 7:00am, then 2 or 3 naps during the day.
- He loves his big sister! He looks at her with such adoration anytime she is around.
- He often flips from his tummy to his back, but has only come close to flipping from his back to tummy.
- He "tripods," as the pediatrician called it, when we sit him by himself.
- He grabs at everything within his reach.

Julia's Last Day of School

Boo hoo! Julia's first year of school is already over. She had such a wonderful experience with Mrs. Dee Dee and Mrs. Steph and will surely miss them. Here are pictures from her last day.

We ran into Mrs. Jackie, the music/chapel teacher on our way in that morning. Julia talks about Mrs. Jackie a lot since she is the one who teaches her so many new songs. Often when I tell Julia I don't know the words to a song she is trying to sing, she replies: "You have to ask Mrs. Jackie."

Giving her gift envelope to Mrs. Dee Dee

When the kids woke up from nap that afternoon, there were gifts from the teachers. How thoughtful! A personalized bucket filled with fun stuff for summer (bubbles, sidewalk chalk, etc). And of course they gave Julia all red items since they know that is her absolute favorite!

Video: Rice Cereal

Colin didn't seem to mind rice cereal too much when we first introduced him to it, but he gradually showed more dislike for it as we continued to give it to him. Here is a video showing his disgust...

Water Day

Here are pictures from Water Day at Julia's school. Kyle, Colin, and I were able to be there for it and watch the fun.
What a cute cover-up!

Lots to do! Besides the pools, sprinklers, and bubble machine to play in, there were 3 cars with sponges and buckets of soapy water for washing, and baby dolls with tubs of soapy water and wash cloths for bathing. The girls really enjoyed that!

Daddy with Colin

They had pizza, fruit, juice, and popsicles too!

Caught in action while dancing in the kitchen in her swimsuit later the same day.

Gymnastics

Julia loves going to gymnastics, an activity she started back in October. She has been in a Parent/Tot class, but was recently promoted to the preschool level (same things, just without a parent there to help). Here are some photos from her last Parent/Tot class.

She likes the swing, but always makes a nervous face.

Doing a forward roll all by herself.

Working on getting her chin up to the bar in the possum hang position.

Receiving her certificate and first medal for completing the Parent/Tot class level.
