TCU Girls Trip

I had a wonderful time visiting my best friends from college during our annual girls trip.  This year we all went to see Katherine in Minnesota.  I went Friday night and spent the night at her house, and went with her to a power/cardio yoga class the next morning before going to pick up the other girls at the airport.  From there we went to lunch, then back to her house so they could all get a quick tour before we all crammed into a rented Tahoe and drove a couple hours to the Grand View Lodge near Nisswa, where we would spend 2 nights.

We arrived and took a quick picture before changing for dinner.

We had a lovely dinner at the restaurant inside the main lodge and gave Katherine a few baby gifts for her baby girl due in October.

We browsed The Chocolate Ox candy store after dinner.

The "cabin" we stayed in turned out to be a large, very nice 4 bedroom house.

What a beautiful view of the lake from our house.  The weather was gorgeous our entire stay - crisp and slightly cool.

We rented a pontoon boat for a few hours to explore the lake, which was too cold to swim.

Before departing on Monday we explored the resort a little more and found a big sandy beach, an outdoor restaurant/grill, and an indoor/outdoor pool.  If only we had more time to stay and enjoy all the amenities.

We stopped in the little town of Nisswa to do a little shopping and eat lunch at a yummy pizza place.  Then we drove back to Minneappolis to catch our flights home.  What a fun weekend, and as usual, it didn't seem long enough!

Monster Truck Show

We took the kids to their first Monster Truck show at the Cedar Park Center, mostly for Colin's benefit, but we all enjoyed it.  It was LOUD!

Music Camp

Julia participated in Music Camp at our church.  The program is a full week and is similar to VBS.  I helped with the craft each day so I enjoyed watching Julia and her friends be creative and work diligently on each project.  Although Colin was in childcare, he learned some new songs and participated in the performance on stage at the end of the week.

Colin wanted to sit with Mrs. Kendra (his teacher from last year) during the performance.
