Recent Pictures

Just catching up on misc pictures from August and September...

I took the kids to the country club to swim one last time. It was a warm day, but the water had already turned chilly.
Enjoying the live band and beautiful weather while waiting for our table at Dahlia's Cafe one Friday night.
At our table the same evening.

Trying to get stuck under the coffee table

Playing together

Taking the Jeep for a spin the night we bought it from someone in our neighborhood. It will stay at Gigi and Pop's house since we don't have room to store it.

There's a first time for everything! Julia is 3 years old and I'm proud to say this was her first time to eat at McDonald's. We were getting new tile floors and a new backsplash and had no access to our kitchen for breakfast that morning. Needless to say, Julia thought her egg mcmuffin was great!

Watching a few minutes of a movie after bath time

Fun times at Mighty Fine
I had to snap a photo when I saw Colin fell asleep in Papaw's arms while we were out to eat. He never ever sleeps in our arms, or anywhere other than his crib or car seat, so we could hardly believe it. Turns out he had fever caused by a virus that wiped him out for several days.

Colin started sucking his fingers at about 3 months and continues to do so when he is tired. Now, though, he only does it if he comes across some cloth material (like a blanket, wash cloth, or sock, for example) to hold against his face while he sucks his fingers. When we see it, we know he is ready for bed. This time, he used his bib :)

Julia and Colin love "driving" the shopping carts at H-E-B.

Evening at Dahlia's Cafe

Here are some pictures from a nice evening we had with Aunt Celia, Uncle Dennis, and Lauren at Dahlia's in Leander. The food was great and the weather was perfect. Julia enjoyed the play area and the band. Be sure to watch the video of her dancing with Daddy. Here is the video of Julia dancing with her Daddy and later doing what looks like an interpretive dance - too funny!

Houston Visit

I took the kids to visit my parents while Kyle was in Canada on the his hunting trip. I had also planned on spending some time with Kyle's side of the family, but plans changed due to various illnesses at the time. It was a great week to relax, enjoy time with family, and catch up with old friends in the area.
The night before Kyle left, Mom made a fabulous, authentic feijoada dinner. Yum!

Playing with Papaw

Saying hi to the horses next door

Trying out the baby piano for the first time

Julia's favorite past time at Mamaw & Papaw's house: the swing!

Another visit with the horses next door
During our stay, Colin really developed a love for bath time and would cry and get so upset when he had to get out. This is a happy face made while splashing water everywhere :)
Colin loves to chew on the wet wash cloth while in the tub.

For the first time Julia didn't sleep in the crib there, but instead got to sleep on a big girl bed.

We could hardly keep Colin away from the cat food. He was so intrigued by it, and much to our surprise he handled it but never put it in his mouth.

Caribou Hunt

Kyle had the opportunity to take a trip to northern Canada with his dad and brother to go Caribou hunting. They were gone for over a week in an isolated environment without any contact with the modern world. They had a great time!

First Day of School

Today was Julia's first day of school. She is in Mrs. Earp's Precious Parrots class with 3 of her former classmates from last year. This photo is after a fun day!
