Houston Weekend

Pictures from a fun long weekend in Houston with Mamaw & Papaw!

Colin wanted to look at the tractor and said he wanted to ride it, but was scared when the engine started.  I just put him in Papaw's lap and walked away so he was forced to get over it.

Meeting Dr. Lee

Today Colin had his first appointment in the Skeletal Dysplasia clinic at Texas Children's Hospital.  We met Geneticist, Dr. Brendan Lee, who will provide care for him and monitor his OI.  It was a good visit where we received some good information and had most of our questions answered.  Dr. Lee told us Colin's genetic mutation is unique (not previously recorded) so he cannot say for sure exactly what type of OI he has, but he appears to be somewhere between Type 1 and Type 4 (the two milder types) and that he would like to start Pamidronate infusions.   He also told us there is no reason for him to think Colin would not be ambulatory - it would just be a matter of time.  Praise God!

Praise God for waterproof casts in the summer!

Doing so well!  Standing to play and bearing weight on his leg.

The Woodlands

We had a fun-filled weekend in The Woodlands visiting with Kyle's side of the family.  We stayed at Kimberly & Mark's house, along with Kolby and his family.  Gigi and Pop were there but stayed in a nearby hotel.  It was fun to have all the cousins together!

While I was getting things ready to load in the car, Colin asked to sit in the booster and eat a yogurt.  "Why, YES!  Of course!"  We don't pass up an opportunity to get Colin some food.

The Dads took the big kids fishing in a neighborhood pond Saturday morning.

Gigi and I took Colin for a walk and let him swing at the park.

Aunt Kimberly put together a scavenger hunt for the older kids to do while the younger kids napped.

Dinner at MiCocina

The kids rode the carousel and a couple of rides inside the mall after dinner.
