Backyard Fun with Friends

Fielding and Wren came over one morning while their Mommy had an appointment.  We played mostly outside and had fun!

Colin: 2-1/2 Years

Some things we want to remember about Colin at this age:

  • Creates "hitches" and other ways to pull and attach toys.
  • Says, "I'm sorry" immediately after doing something wrong.
  • Hardly ever goes to Time-Out, but will correct his ways if we simply mention Time-Out.
  • Has finally learned to like sandwiches, particularly grilled turkey and cheese.
  • Loves eating Daddy's fried fish.
  • Favorite colors:  blue and green
  • When someone asks him what his favorite color is he answers:  "I like blue and green and tractors."
  • When we walk into a restaurant or store that he recognizes he says, "Hey, we've been here before."
  • He says, "It's too hard" when I try getting him to do a puzzle, play a game, or sit and color for more than a minute.
  • When he occasionally has a poop accident in his pants he says, "I'm really sorry, Mommy/Daddy."
  • The only time he knows is "9-o'clock" so he often asks, "Is it 9-o'clock?" or if we ever ask him what time it is that's his response.
  • He enjoys playing "baby and Mommy" with Julia.
  • He likes taking Julia to gymnastics with me because that is the only time he gets to play on the iPad.
  • Whenever he sits down to color, he almost immediately asks whatever adult is nearby to draw a tractor for him (or sometimes a truck).
  • He isn't interested in reading any books that do not involve some sort of vehicle for him to look at in pictures.
  • "Matend" = pretend
  • "Majamas" = pajamas
  • "Piccups" = hiccups
  • "Old McDonalds" = McDonalds
  • "Middastics" = gymnastics

Water Day: Julia

Julia's "Water Day" was on the last day of school.  It was lots of fun, but a little cool for May and overcast.

Julia was upset that the water was so cold and it took some convincing to have her go down again.

Once she decided to have fun it really was fun!

Julia's class drew pictures with wet sidewalk chalk, which was fun.
