Pregnancy Photos at 33-1/2 Weeks

My good friend, Jennifer, was nice enough to take some photos of me last weekend. I was supposed to surprise Kyle with prints, but couldn't keep the surprise because I wanted to show him how well they turned out and get his opinion about which I should order. Here are some of my favorites...
Is that really my tummy? It looks so big!

Houston Baby Shower

My wonderful friends, Jennifer and Stephanie, hosted a lovely baby shower for me in Houston at my parents' house. Everything from the invitations and favors to the food and decorations was adorable. I really appreciated all the work they put into making it a very special occasion.

The precious wreath for the door - made of diapers, ribbon, and pacifiers.

What a beautiful diaper cake - with a framed ultrasound picture on top.

"It's A Girl!"

The grandmothers-to-be.

We played a fun game of "Guess how many toilet paper squares it takes to go around Melanie's belly!" I guess I look really big, since most everyone overshot by several squares.

Thank you to all those who came to "shower" me with precious gifts for our little girl.

Melanie's New Car

Here are pictures of Melanie's new 2009 Honda Pilot. We picked it up this afternoon and are really excited about it. The old car was almost 8 years old, so with the baby on the way we figured now would be a good time to get something with a little more room.

31 Weeks, 4 Days

Here we are at 31 weeks and 4 days. We are very thankful for a smooth pregnancy so far and pray that all will continue to go well.

Avants Visit

Our friends, Adam and Jasmine, came to visit us for the weekend. We packed in a lot of activities and had lots of fun.
After showing Adam and Jasmine around Georgetown and walking around the square, we headed to the lake near our house. There are cliffs at the lake that we had heard about but had never been to, so we set out to find them. After hiking about a mile, we reached our destination.

The lake was cool and refreshing after our long hike.

Adam, Jasmine, and Kyle all had fun cliff jumping while Melanie watched and took pictures.

Kyle braved the larger cliff a couple of times. The picture doesn't capture how far up he actually was. Here is the video of one of his jumps:

We went to The Oasis on Lake Travis for dinner. The restaurant is known as "sunset capital of Texas."

Kyle bought a Nintendo Wii last week, so we spent some time on Sunday trying out a bunch of the games. None of us had ever played it before, so we had a great time. Doubles tennis was fun for the four of us to play, and the boxing match between Kyle and Adam was the most entertaining to watch. Adam kept getting really close to the TV, and Kyle would jump around and dodge hits as if it was real. :) They really worked up a sweat! Here is a video:

Mural Progress

At last, the mural in the nursery is underway! Above is a sketch showing roughly how it should look when finished, although the actual design differs slightly from what is shown.

Here are some photos that show the progression of the 50 or so hours of painting. The only thing left to do is add the letters at the top.

Beaumont Shower

Our family and friends in Beaumont hosted a baby shower last weekend. Everything was lovely and I enjoyed seeing all who were there. Kyle and I are very blessed to have so many people who love us and generously gave gifts to help us get ready for our baby girl.

Our daughter will be blessed with two wonderful grandmothers.

Kyle's sister, Kimberly, helped keep track of the gifts.
