Chatty Football Fan

Over the past couple of days, Julia has become even more "talkative" than she was previously. Most of the time she talks directly to us as if she has so much to tell us, and it is so fun to listen and pretend we have some idea what she is saying. But she often gets very vocal when she is in her swing, as the first video shows. She carried on like this yesterday for about an hour, but I couldn't catch the best of it on video because she would stop to look at me each time she saw me.

A couple of weeks ago we discovered that Julia loves to watch football. Kyle first noticed her get really excited when he had a Georgia Tech game on. She would "coo," kick her legs, and occasionally let out a screech when a good play happened. Today, we let her watch some of the Texans game while we ate lunch and she thoroughly enjoyed it.

The Christmas Stroll

The Christmas Stroll was last weekend and for the second year in a row, Kimberly, Mark, and Madison came to visit and attend all the festivities. This year, David and Elaine were able to come to town too. There was a parade, a large market of craft vendors, pictures with Santa, and other fun things to do.
Uncle Dennis and Aunt Celia met us at the parade.

Julia got to meet Santa Claus, although she was too distracted by everything in the room to even notice that he was holding her.

The next morning, Julia and Madison watched cartoons with Gigi for a few minutes before we headed out for brunch.

Random Pictures

Here are some random photos of Julia from the past couple of weeks.

Now this is what you call bed-head!

Julia enjoys (or tolerates) tummy-time much more when she isn't wearing clothes.
Julia watched as Daddy put up Christmas lights outside.

She watched us decorate the tree.

Giggle Box

We could hardly believe it when it happened, but Julia giggled for the first time on Thanksgiving Day. The video quality isn't great because the lighting was dim, but at least we captured it.

Thanksgiving

We just returned from a fun 10-day trip to spend time with family for Thanksgiving. Kyle took the week off from work, so we left town on Friday to spend the weekend at the deer lease in Junction. From there, we went to Houston where we spent Thanksgiving. On Friday, we headed to Beaumont for the weekend before heading home.

Julia is smiling for the camera. How cute!

Julia's first Thanksgiving meal, which she enjoyed later. :)

Melanie's mom hard at work in the kitchen. Once again, she made a delicious meal including the family favorites...smoked turkey, honey-baked ham, cornbread dressing, green bean casserole, candied yams, baked barley, curried fruit, and pecan pie for dessert.

Looks like we were moving in! It is amazing how much more stuff we packed now that we have a baby. To be fair, though, we were gone 10 days and went to 3 different places.

Weekend in Fort Worth

Here are pictures from our trip to Fort Worth a few weeks ago. It was a great weekend because we saw friends and family. Our friends, Katherine & Xan, got married so we attended the rehearsal dinner and wedding. We stayed with Lindsay, Kolby, and Shane and enjoyed visiting with them and seeing where they live. They were nice enough to keep Julia while we attended the wedding festivities - this was the first time we had ever left Julia. Thanks again, Lindsay and Kolby!
Julia was interested in her cousin, Shane.

We went to Babe's Chicken in Burleson for lunch on Saturday.

Julia got some extra time with Jill, who loved on her until it was time to take her to the airport.
