Weekend Visitors

Mamaw, Papaw, and Uncle James came to spend the weekend with us. We spent Friday afternoon playing at Lake Georgetown - we went swimming, cliff jumping, skiing, and tubing. That evening we went to The Oasis for dinner and enjoyed the beautiful sunset over Lake Travis. On Saturday, we went to the country club to have lunch and swim. That evening, the guys played 9 holes of golf. We had lots of fun and appreciated them coming to visit. Here are some pictures. The one of Julia upset shows how concerned she was when her Papaw fell in the water before successfully getting up on skis.

Julia really enjoyed playing with Krissy when we were visiting her Gigi and Pop in Beaumont for July 4th. Julia quickly figured out that Krissy had toys that she could use to get her to play. Of course, the cutest moments were not caught on video...

In this video, Julia is calling Acie and Abbie. She saw them in the driveway when we returned from our walk (we had to leave them because I didn't want to struggle with 2 enthusiastic dogs and a jogger), but after greeting Julia and giving her a couple licks they went off to play. She does this every time we go to the backyard and every time we get her out of the car seat upon arriving home.

This was just too cute not to capture on video. She was even more giggly when they first started.

4th of July

We spent a 4-day weekend in Beaumont to visit Kyle's parents for the 4th of July. While there we also spent some time with Lindsay and Shane, who were in town too.

We went bowling that afternoon, since it was too hot to do much else. Julia enjoyed herself as usual.

Gigi and Pop have a wonderful new playground in their neighborhood, so we went there one evening when it wasn't so hot.

Back at the house, Shane and Julia were at work in the kitchen. They played together for a long time.

She must know how cute we think she is!

Summer Fun!

We have taken Julia to the pool several times this summer. She had to get used to being in the water at first since months had passed since we took her to the indoor pool, but now she is a real water baby. She gets excited when she sees a pool and can't wait to get in. She loves to splash and kick, and doesn't mind too much when she gets water in her face.

Since she enjoys the pool so much, we also let her play in the baby pool in our backyard - sometimes she goes skinny dipping because it is easier for Mommy. She likes it, but gets distracted and wants to crawl out of it, but since she doesn't like the grass she stays in. Once I made the mistake of putting the pool on the sidewalk instead of the grass and she was out in no time - and just spent the entire time playing with the plants, dirt, mulch, sticks, etc.

Julia: 10 Months

Julia is 10 months old and is so much fun. In this picture, she is sitting on an antique rocking horse that was her Mamaw's as a child. Here are some things we want to remember about her at this age:

• She plays peekaboo! When we ask where Julia is, she will lift up a blanket or book to cover her face, then will lower it and giggle.
• She claps on command, when we let her know she did something good, and when she hears an audience clap on tv.
• She gives "high-fives" and pats on her head when we ask her where her head is.
• She dances to music by wiggling her torso and moving her head from side to side.
• She loves dogs and cats and will kick her legs and will sometimes squeal with excitement.
• One of her favorite things is digging through Mommy's purse or any other bag or box that has things inside. She pulls each item out one by one and tosses it to the side, and then will put some of them back in. Then back out, then back in, then out again. Then she moves on to something else.
• She is a very busy girl and is into everything!
