Christmas - Part I

Part 1

We spent a few days in Beaumont (the 22nd-morning of the 25th) and had a wonderful time. Everyone was together for most of the 23rd and 24th, which was great. There are now 6 grandkids!
Our family picture

Colin spent some of his awake time in the swing.

Julia and Shane played together at the neighborhood park.
Colin spent most of his time like this.

Opening gifts.

"Jumping" on the bed with Madison (they were allowed to bounce on their bottoms)

Fun!
Getting a bottle from Pop

Going in for a kiss!

And another kiss! Julia adores her cousin Katelyn.

Gifts left by Santa
(The only thing Julia hoped Santa would bring her was RED glitter. No matter how many time we asked her, that was her response. Santa decided to give her more than that, though.)

Checking it all out.

The jackpot: Red glitter!

She also got some small Dora things: a bouncy ball, a matching game (her favorite), a DVD, and a few other misc. items.

Julia can still fit through the tiny doggy door on the gate at Gigi and Pop's house.

Part 2

After opening Santa's gifts on Christmas morning, we headed back to Houston to spend the day with Mamaw, Papaw, and Uncle James.

Opening gifts

Papaw held Colin while we opened gifts. He was so comfy and content.

Julia and Uncle James reading the new book he gave her.

Cozy by the fire.

We were so glad it was cool enough for a fire in the fireplace!

Dancing with Papaw at a restaurant

Julia spent most of her stay playing outside with Papaw, and most of that time was spent in the swing. She loves that it can go so high!
Daddy getting ready to give her a push.

Weee! Up into the tree! (literally)
Beautiful smile!
What could be more fun than this?

Newborn and Family Portraits

Our wonderful friend, Sarah, took these pictures for us. They turned out beautiful and we are so thankful!

Christmas Stroll

We had a great time at the annual Christmas Stroll on the square. The parade was at noon and we returned later that evening for the other festivities.
Waiting for the parade to begin. It was very hot!

Colin wearing his "My 1st Christmas" onesie.

Waving to the people in the parade.

The same day, 4 of Melanie's college friends drove to town to have lunch and visit for the afternoon. Colin enjoyed all the attention while we ate at Monument Cafe.

Christmas Program

Julia's class at school put on a little Christmas program for the parents. It was quite chaotic since several children cried the entire time they were on stage, but so funny for us to watch. Julia did great despite the distractions, and demonstrated her sweet tender heart toward one girl who was upset. Here are pictures and a video clip showing the funniest part...

Julia leaned to the girl next to her who wasn't singing and (we think) tried telling her the words. :)

She was very concerned about her other friend who kept getting upset and put her arm around her. I love her sweet, loving expression in this picture.

It appears that her friend is wondering why Julia is patting her on the back.

What a sweetheart!
