Couple's Baby Shower
Kimberly and Mark hosted a baby shower for us in Houston last weekend. We really enjoyed seeing all of our friends who were able to attend.
Before the shower, everyone met for lunch at a Mexican restaurant nearby.

After lunch we went to the Davis' house for cake and punch.
Our friends, Jeremy and Ana
Melanie's parents
Caleb Greene and Clark McCormick, who was helping us open our gifts.
Jasmine and Adam
A gift made especially for Kyle: a tool belt filled with all the necessities for "Daddy Diaper Duty."

25 Weeks
Congratulations, Lauren!
Kyle's cousin, Lauren, just graduated from Georgetown High School. We are proud of her for completing high school in just 3 years. She will be off to A&M in the fall.
Fresh Paint
Our home has a new look! Last week we had our house painted and decided to change the color slightly while we were at it. Our trim, like most of the homes in our neighborhood, was showing its age. Many of our neighbors were having their houses painted, so we followed suit and are pleased with the results.
For comparison purposes, here was the before color.
We were really impressed with the job the painters did for us. They power-washed the entire house (including the driveway) the first day, then painted the entire house in 2 days and came back to refinish our front door and paint the porches.
Acie and Abbie stayed out of their way, but Acie did manage to brush up against some wet paint.5.27.2008
Memorial Day
We spent Memorial Day with our friends, Richard and Kasy, who live nearby in north Austin, as well as Richard's younger brother, Adam, who was in town for the weekend. We packed a picnic lunch and headed to Lake Georgetown for the afternoon to relax, swim, and enjoy the day. Afterwards, we all cleaned up and went to dinner and a movie.

Another Glimpse of Baby
Since my 20-week ultrasound revealed only the possibility that our baby is a girl, my wonderful friend, Jennifer, arranged for her doctor and dear friend to do a 3D/4D ultrasound for me to take another look. Both grandmothers were able to attend the appointment, so we made an afternoon of it. Kimberly and Madison joined us for lunch in the Woodlands, and we all did a little shopping before heading to the doctor's office.
The ultrasound was a success, in that the doctor was able to confirm without a doubt that the baby is a girl. We all enjoyed being able to watch her, although she did not perform too much for us. She must be like her mommy, who dislikes being the center of attention, because she kept one or both hands in front of her face the entire time. So, we got lots of good clear views of her hands and feet (which were often up near her face), and were able to count 10 fingers and 10 toes.
